چکیده

We study the Drell-Yan production cross section and structure functions in proton (deuteron)-nucleus collisions using the Color Glass Condensate formalism. The nucleus is treated in the Color Glass Condensate framework which includes both higher twist effects due to the inclusion of multiple scatterings and leading twist pQCD shadowing due to the small x resummation, while the proton (or deuteron) is treated within the DGLAP improved parton model. In particular, the Drell-Yan structure functions are used in order to investigate the Lam-Tung relation at small x, which is known to be identically zero at leading twist up to Next-toLeading order, and is thus a good playground for studying higher twist effects. In agreement with this, we find that violations of this relation are more important for low momentum and invariant mass of the Drell-Yan pair, and also in the region of rapidity that corresponds to smaller values of x in the nucleus. Model-independent constraints on the shape parameters of dilepton angular distributions

The coefficients determining the dilepton decay angular distribution of vector particles obey certain positivity constraints and a rotation-invariant identity. These relations are a direct consequence of the covariance properties of angular momentum eigenstates and are independent of the production mechanism. The Lam-Tung relation can be derived as a particular case, simply recognizing that the...

Angular Dependence of the Nuclear Enhancement of Drell-Yan Pairs

We calculate the nuclear enhancement in the angular distribution of Drell-Yan pairs produced in proton–nucleus reactions. Nuclear effects are encoded in universal twist-4 parton correlation functions. We find that the Lam-Tung relation for the angular coefficients of the lepton-pair distribution holds for the double-hard, but not for the soft-hard contribution. We also predict that nuclear enha...

where φ is the angle between the lepton and hadron planes in the lepton center of mass frame (see Fig. 3 of Ref.1). In the parton model (order αs) quark-antiquark annihilation yields λ = 1, μ = ν = 0. The leading order (LO) perturbative QCD corrections (order αs) lead to μ 6= 0, ν 6= 0 and λ 6= 1, such that the so-called Lam-Tung relation 1 − λ − 2ν = 0 holds. Beyond LO, small deviations from t...

Rotation-invariant relations in vector meson decays into fermion pairs.

The covariance properties of angular momentum eigenstates imply the existence of a rotation-invariant relation among the parameters of the difermion decay distribution of inclusively observed vector mesons. This relation is a generalization of the Lam-Tung identity, a result specific to Drell-Yan production in perturbative QCD, here shown to be equivalent to the dynamical condition that the dil...
